harvia-forte-af-electric-sauna-heater
Harvia Forte AF Always-Ready Electric Sauna Heater with Digital Control, 4.4 to 9.8kW, Stainless Steel, 240V

The Harvia Forte AF is a heat-storing electric sauna heater built to be ready whenever you are. A large, insulated stone chamber stays hot on standby under a closed lid, so when you lift the cover and switch to full power, Harvia says a well-insulated room reaches bathing temperature in about 5 to 15 minutes. It suits households that use the sauna several times a week at varying times, in rooms of roughly 177 to 530 cubic feet on 240V single-phase power.

How it works

On standby (LO) the heater keeps the stone chamber warm using standby heat; Harvia puts daily standby energy use at about 4 to 6 kWh. Press the operating button for full power (HI) for one hour at a time while you bathe. The stone temperature can be set between 428 and 500°F at the control panel, and an ECO mode lets you hold a very low temperature without switching the heater off.

Control and safety features

The Forte uses a separate, splash-proof digital control panel, which also makes it well suited to being built into a bench. The heater switches off automatically if the cover is left open, and the control panel has a keypad lock. The cover has a silicone gasket and a spring-loaded hinge that holds it open or closed.

Specifications (Harvia)

Models: Forte AF45 (HAFU4502401), AF65 (HAFU6502401), AF100 (HAFU100241)

Output: 4.4kW, 6.5kW or 9.8kW

Room volume: AF45 177 to 283 cu ft, AF65 247 to 424 cu ft, AF100 353 to 530 cu ft

Electrical: 240V, single-phase, 60 Hz; AF45 18.3A, 12 AWG; AF65 27.0A, 8 AWG; AF100 40.8A, 6 AWG copper supply wire (min. 90°C)

Control: separate splash-proof digital control panel with keypad lock, ECO mode and standby mode

Stone temperature setting: 428 to 500°F (220 to 260°C)

Dimensions: 34.65" H x 19.69" W x 20.87" D (880 x 500 x 530 mm)

Net weight: 73.9 lb without stones

Stone capacity: about 220 lb (100 kg) of 4 to 6 in (10 to 15 cm) stones

Material: stainless steel

Installation: floor-standing on adjustable feet, can be embedded in a bench

Clearances: 2 in to non-combustible surfaces at the front, sides and back; minimum room height 6.56 ft

Protection class: IPX4

Certification: ETL (per Harvia)

What you need to know before buying

The Forte is hardwired at 240V single-phase.
