These high-density stones are chosen for heat retention. Once heated, they release a longer burst of steam when you ladle water over them, which helps you keep the heat and humidity where you want them for the whole session.

The stones are made to handle sauna temperatures and resist cracking and shattering. They are natural stone with no added chemicals and do not give off fumes or odors when heated.
Olivine Gabbro from northern Minnesota
The stones come from a 1.1 billion year old vein of northern Minnesota bedrock. The smooth, rounded edges make them easy to arrange in your heater for even heat and steam.
