ThermaSol Nordic Dawn 4-person outdoor sauna cabin, front view with full-width glass

ThermaSol 4-Person Outdoor Sauna Cabins Compared

Five ThermaSol outdoor sauna cabins seat three to four people or more: the Fortis, Nordic Dawn, Spectra, Vue and the medium Nordic Misty. All arrive fully assembled and pre-wired with a Harvia electric heater (the Misty also offers a wood-burning stove), so the choice comes down to glass style, footprint, weight and price.

You can see the full range on our ThermaSol collection. This comparison uses the specifications on each product page, and it is written for home buyers planning a backyard sauna. ThermaSol is a brand we sell as a retailer, and every cabin is made to order.

Which cabin has the best glass and privacy?

Each cabin treats the front differently:

  • Fortis: an 8 mm Parsol dark grey tinted glass front with hidden aluminum framing, set in a brushed thermo spruce and pinewood shell. The listing describes the tint as giving privacy and solar protection.
  • Spectra: a single-glazed 34 mm Parsol dark grey thermal glass front in a black aluminum frame, with thermally modified Tyrol wood walls.
  • Vue: 34 mm mirrored and glazed thermal glass on three walls, so you look out from inside while the glass reflects the garden from outside.
  • Nordic Dawn: a full-width double-glazed window and glass door, both argon insulated, with thermo-pine inside and out.
  • Nordic Misty: a full-length tempered, tinted glass wall and a lockable tinted glass door, with the door on the left or right.

Which cabin fits a 4-person group best?

The Nordic Dawn is the only one listed for exactly four people. The Fortis, Spectra and Vue are listed for three to four, which usually means three comfortable and four snug. The medium Nordic Misty is the roomiest, listed for four to five. The Fortis, Spectra and Vue list thermo-aspen benches 24 inches deep. The Nordic Dawn and Nordic Misty listings do not give a bench depth, so ask us if bench length matters to you.

If you want an even larger setup, the Nordic Misty is modular: it screws onto other Nordic Misty units such as the changing room and terrace.

What do the heaters and controls offer?

Every cabin uses a Harvia heater with Wi-Fi and a Harvia Xenio CX45 digital control. The Fortis, Spectra and Vue list the MyHarvia app, so you can start a session from your phone. The Fortis, Spectra and Vue include RGB LED lighting, and the Nordic Dawn has ambient LEDs with their own control. If you want to compare the heaters themselves, read our guide to Harvia sauna heaters compared. The Nordic Misty is the only one that also comes with a Harvia wood-burning stove, with a steel chimney, smoke pipe guard and hearth plate, for owners who prefer a wood fire.

What power and site prep do they need?

The electric cabins are hardwired by a licensed electrician on a 240V single phase supply. The product pages give the following:

  • Fortis and Spectra: 33.4A heater load, minimum AWG 8 copper supply wire rated 90 degrees C.
  • Vue: 37.5A heater load, minimum AWG 8 copper supply wire rated 90 degrees C.
  • Nordic Dawn: a 50A double-pole breaker and 8/2 copper wire rated 90 degrees C.

Have your electrician confirm the circuit before the cabin arrives, and use our sauna electrical requirements guide to know what to ask. You also need a level, solid base that carries 2,100 to 2,900 lb, and a clear delivery route.

Which cabin is easiest to place?

Footprint and height decide how a cabin sits in your yard. The Vue is the most compact at 79 x 87 inches, followed by the Spectra at 82 x 90 and the Nordic Dawn at 86.8 x 85.4. The Fortis is 87 x 90 and the medium Nordic Misty is 87 x 91. Height runs from 89 inches on the Fortis and Vue to 100 inches on the Nordic Misty, and 98.8 inches on the Nordic Dawn, so check any overhead branches, roofline limits or local height rules before you pick a spot. Allow extra room for the door swing and a path to the entrance, and measure the delivery route as well as the final site.

What should you know before ordering?

All five are made to order, and the product pages state that made-to-order items are not returnable once ordered. That makes it worth measuring your site, confirming your electrical supply and checking the access path first. Sauna use is intended for general relaxation and wellness. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition or low blood pressure, talk with your doctor before use.

Which one should you choose?

  • Lowest price of the five, true 4-person seating: Nordic Dawn.
  • Dark glass front with a classic look: Fortis or Spectra.
  • Mirrored glass that blends into the yard: Vue.
  • More seats, modular growth or a wood fire option: Nordic Misty, Medium.
