Description

The Protocol4 CryoCloud P100 is a professional dry flotation bed for cold recovery routines. The user lies fully clothed on a soft, chilled water membrane and a motorized platform lowers them up to 10 inches into the water, with no direct water contact, ice or tank to step into. It is built for recovery studios, gyms, clinics, spas and high-end home wellness rooms with a dedicated equipment space.

How it works

A 3 HP industrial chiller circulates water through the bed and holds a target of 41 to 43°F. Protocol4 states it cools at about 18°F per hour, so plan to start it at least 2 hours before a session. The touchscreen or remote sets temperature, a 7-color LED chromotherapy system sets the mood, and a Bluetooth headset is provided for audio. An emergency stop button halts the session and raises the platform.

What you need to know before buying

  • Space: plan an indoor room for a 98.4 x 47.2 in bed plus the chiller within 13 ft. Protocol4 recommends placing the chiller in a separate equipment room or behind a sound-dampening partition, since it makes moderate noise and heat.
  • Floor: the surface must be level and able to support the bed (563 lb dry), up to 500 liters of water and the user.
  • Power: a certified electrician must install a dedicated 220 to 240V, 16A circuit using the provided industrial plug and base. A standard 110V/15A outlet will not work and can damage the chiller and void the warranty.
  • Delivery: Protocol4 requires a forklift or equivalent lifting equipment on site to unload the bed from the truck.
  • Setup: the membrane is filled from a water source to about 5/6 full and the lines are bled of air. All installation work must be done by qualified personnel.
  • Care: users remove jewelry and sharp accessories to protect the membrane, and the surface is wiped with a non-corrosive disinfectant after each session.

Freight items arrive shrink-wrapped on a pallet. The carrier schedules the drop-off and leaves it at the curb or end of your driveway, so plan help or a dolly to move it from there. Example photo of a typical delivery. Your packaging may look different.

Common questions

Is this a cryotherapy chamber?
No. It is a dry flotation bed. You lie clothed on a soft membrane filled with chilled water at 41 to 43°F; there is no liquid nitrogen or cold-air chamber.
How much space does it need?
The bed is 98.4 x 47.2 x 25.6 in and the chiller is 31.1 x 28.0 x 23.6 in. They can sit up to 13 ft apart, and Protocol4 suggests putting the chiller in an equipment room or behind a partition.
What power does it need?
A dedicated 220 to 240V, 16A circuit installed by a certified electrician, using the provided industrial plug and base. It will not run on a standard 110V outlet.
What does delivery involve?
It ships as two boxes. The bed weighs 563 lb dry, so Protocol4 requires a forklift or equivalent lifting equipment on site to unload it.
Who should not use it?
Talk with your doctor first if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, cold sensitivity or are pregnant. Users should remove jewelry and sharp items to protect the membrane.
