Liberty Spas LYS7000 7-person hot tub, angled view, white shell and brown cabinet

Liberty Spas LYS6000 vs LYS7000: Which 46-Jet Hot Tub?

The Liberty Spas LYS6000 and LYS7000 are the same size and price, so the choice comes down to seating. Both are 84 by 84 inch, 240V hot tubs with 46 jets at $7,499. Pick the LYS6000 for a full-length lounger and a footwell that massages feet, and the LYS7000 for bench seating that fits a group of seven.

Both are in our hot tubs collection. Every figure below comes from the two product pages, and prices can change, so check them before you buy. These tubs are for residential use. We have no customer reviews on either yet, so this is a specs comparison.

What is actually different between them?

Seating is the real difference, and it drives the other small ones. The LYS6000 is built around a full-length lounger and two deep captain's chairs, with a footwell that massages everyone's feet. The LYS7000 swaps the lounger for open bench seating, so it holds seven. Because it holds more water, it is also heavier: 317 gallons against 290, and 3,500 pounds filled against 3,280.

Which is better for two adults?

The LYS6000. If most soaks are one or two people who want to lie back, the lounger is the feature that matters, and the footwell jets add to it. You give up one seat, which you may never miss.

Which is better for family and guests?

The LYS7000. Open bench seating and two captain's chairs suit a group better than a lounger does. If you regularly soak with four or five people, the extra seat and the bench layout make it the more practical tub, and you pay nothing extra for it.

What do both tubs share?

A lot. Both use the Glacier AO3P antimicrobial filtration with ozone and are UV-C ready, although the 18W UV bulb is sold separately. Both have 46 Black Ice jets in three sizes, Bluetooth speakers, LED lighting and a locking 5 inch to 3 inch hardtop cover, and both include a Glacier antimicrobial filter set. Aromatherapy is supported, with fragrance beads sold separately. On the product pages, delivery is free curbside (tailgate) to the contiguous U.S., which means the spa is set down at the curb or driveway and you plan the help or equipment to move it to its pad.

What does a pad and power plan look like?

Do the site work before the tub arrives. Liberty Spas recommends a flat, level base that supports at least 150 lb per square foot, such as a 4 to 6 inch poured concrete pad, in full contact with the bottom of the spa. The two tubs have the same footprint, so the same pad works for either. Remember the filled weights above, and plan for the people who will be in the water on top of that.

Both require a dedicated 240V, 50A GFCI-protected circuit installed by a licensed electrician. Get that quote early, because the run from your panel to the pad often drives the cost. Our hot tub cost guide covers the full budget beyond the sticker price, and our hot tub size guide helps you check your yard and access path.

How do the seats and jets differ in practice?

The product photos show where the two layouts diverge. On the LYS6000, the no-float lounger has leg and foot jets, a captain's seat has neck, shoulder and hip jets, and there is a cooling seat and step. On the LYS7000, the photos show a barrier-free seat with hip and foot jets, a second captain's seat and neck and shoulder jets beside an LED cascading waterfall. Both pages describe 46 adjustable, interchangeable jets, so you can aim the flow once you are in the water.

The practical takeaway is that the LYS6000 is the more focused of the two for one person lying down, while the LYS7000 spreads its seats across a group. Neither page makes any therapeutic claim, and neither should you: a hot tub is for relaxation and enjoyment.

How do you get a 3,000-plus pound tub to its pad?

Delivery is curbside, so the carrier sets the spa down at the curb or driveway and you handle the rest. Measure the path from the drop point to the pad before you order: gate width, steps, slopes, overhead branches and any turns. Remember the tub is 84 inches square, so a standard gate may not be enough. Our hot tub size guide helps you check your yard, and if you are unsure whether your yard works, send us the measurements before you buy. Because the order is final sale, a ten minute measuring job is the cheapest insurance you can buy.

Who should skip both of these?

Some buyers should look elsewhere. If you want to avoid a 240V, 50A circuit, look at the Plug & Play models above, and read their pages for the exact electrical requirements. If your yard cannot take a pad rated for these filled weights, you need a different plan before any purchase. And if you are not sure a hot tub fits your life, our honest list of ownership downsides is worth reading first. These two Liberty Spas tubs are residential products, and we do not offer them for commercial or business settings.

What should you know before ordering?

Liberty Spas hot tubs are final sale: the product pages state they cannot be returned or exchanged once ordered. That makes measuring the size, access path and electrical supply before you order essential. Inspect the spa when it arrives, since the pages say shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours. If you are weighing the downsides of ownership honestly, read what the downsides of owning a hot tub are first.

At checkout, consumer Shop Pay Installments may be offered, subject to Shop Pay's own eligibility decision. We do not offer business financing.

What if you want to spend less or go smaller?

Three other Liberty Spas models sit below these two. The LYS5000 6-person, 34-jet, 240V tub is $6,500. The LYS4000 4-person Plug & Play is $6,000, and the LYS4500 5 to 6 person Plug & Play is $5,500. Read each page for its electrical needs, because the Plug & Play and 240V models are wired differently. You can see all of them together in our Liberty Spas collection.

Which one should you buy?

Choose on how you will really soak. A couple or small household that wants to stretch out: the LYS6000. A family, a crowd or frequent guests: the LYS7000. If you cannot decide, count how many people were in your last three soaks. Whichever number is closer wins, because everything else about the two tubs is the same.
