Description
The Huum CLIFF is a slim stainless steel tower electric sauna heater from Estonia, built around a tall stone cage that holds about 165 lb of stones. Its 10.6 by 10.6 inch footprint fits compact home saunas of 177 to 566 cubic feet, and it can stand in a corner or be embedded in a bench. This package pairs it with a Huum UKU control and sauna stones.
Tall stone cage
The stones wrap the stainless steel elements in direct contact, and removable ribs make stacking easier. A large stone mass gives softer, longer lasting heat for steam when you pour water.
Small footprint
At 10.6 by 10.6 inches and 38.4 inches tall, the CLIFF uses little floor space. The 6kW model needs only 2.36 in of side clearance per Huum's manual.

What you need to know before buying
- This is a hardwired 240V heater. A licensed electrician must install it and the UKU control per the manual and local code. Huum recommends connecting it without a GFCI breaker.
- Pick the output by room volume. Add 3.3 cu ft for each sq ft of uninsulated glass, tile, brick or stone wall.
- The CLIFF uses small 1.2 to 2 in stones and Huum recommends a specialist stack them; stacking too tightly can overheat the elements.
- The CLIFF is fixed to the floor with brackets. Clearances grow with output, so check the 9kW and 10.5kW distances before you plan the room.
In the box
