Description
The Huum HIVE Wood is a stainless steel wood-burning sauna stove for traditional saunas, including cabins without an electrical hookup. It comes in 13kW and 17kW, and you load firewood from inside the sauna. This is the standard HIVE Wood, not the HIVE Wood 17 LS, which has a firebox extension for loading from an adjacent room.
Heat and stones
Huum surrounds the firebox with a round stone cage. The HIVE Wood 13 holds 90 kg (198 lb) of stones and the HIVE Wood 17 holds 130 kg (287 lb), per Huum. A heat exchanger for warming water can be mounted below the stones (sold separately).
Build
The furnace is built for an efficient, forceful burn, and Huum makes the flame tamer from 5 mm (0.2 in) stainless steel. The stove is made in Estonia.
