What drop-stitch construction means

Drop-stitch is the same material used on commercial-grade inflatable paddle boards, which support up to 1,000 pounds on the water's surface. Thousands of fine threads connect the top and bottom layers, so the tub holds a rigid flat-walled shape under pressure rather than bulging like a pool toy. That rigidity is what makes an inflatable tub usable as a plunge rather than a novelty.

Classic or Deluxe

The Classic fits individuals up to 6'4". The Deluxe is the larger version, fitting up to 7'2" or two people, and holds about 150 gallons at the minimum line. If you are tall, sharing, or want more water volume, the Deluxe is worth the difference. If you are plunging alone and space is tight, the Classic does the same job.

If you want a permanent installation with an integrated chiller rather than an inflatable, look at the RevX Acrylic X Tub with LUX chiller.

Ice or chiller

The simplest approach is ice: fill, add bags, plunge. It works and costs nothing beyond the ice. The alternative is connecting the tub's inlet and outlet ports to a chiller and filtration system, which holds a set temperature and keeps the water clean so you are not draining and refilling constantly. The ports are built for this. See the RevX X-FLOW filtration system.

What included

Inflatable tub, inflatable lid, protection mat, manual air pump, repair kit, and user manual.

What to expect

Cold water immersion produces a strong, short-lived arousal response, and people commonly describe feeling alert and clear-headed afterward. What that reflects at the level of brain chemistry is not settled, and claims naming specific neurotransmitters are stated with more confidence than the evidence supports. Start with short holds and warmer temperatures. Our cold plunge starter guide covers a sensible first month.

A cold plunge is not a treatment for any medical condition and is not a substitute for medical care.
