ThermaSol SignaTouch vs ThermaTouch: Which Steam Shower Control?
Share
SignaTouch is ThermaSol's 5-inch touchscreen control, and ThermaTouch is the larger 7-inch screen. On our product pages, the 7-inch packages add WiFi, Bluetooth and Android apps, while the 5-inch packages control steam, shower, light and sound for two users. What really separates the packages is the valve and rainhead bundled with the screen, so compare the whole kit.
We sell both families in our ThermaSol steam shower collection. Everything below comes from the product pages, prices can change, and we have no customer reviews on these packages yet, so this is a specs comparison. We are not an authorized ThermaSol dealer, and a steam generator is a separate purchase.
What is the difference between SignaTouch and ThermaTouch?
Both are touchscreen controls that run a ThermaSol steam shower. The main differences on our pages are screen size and what the screen can do.
The SignaTouch pages describe a 5-inch touchscreen that sets steam temperature and session length, with settings saved for two users. It can be installed vertically or horizontally, and the HydroVive package adds control of shower, lighting and sound from the same screen.
The ThermaTouch pages describe a waterproof 7-inch touchscreen that runs on Android. It adds built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, access to more than 30 apps in the round package, also saves two user profiles, and updates its firmware automatically. The 7-inch shower package also lists Alexa compatibility and an Ethernet connection.
How do the four packages compare?
Our pages list four related packages. Notice that the screen is only one part of each.
| Package | Screen | Valve | Steamhead | Rainhead | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SignaTouch 5 Wellness Steam Package | 5-inch SignaTouch | Digital valve not listed | SteamVection | HydroVive, 120 jets | From $8,999.97 |
| SignaTouch Flushmount Total Wellness (TWPSR) | 5-inch, flush-mounted | Digital valve included | SteamVection | Serenity 10, two rows of 82 jets | $7,499.97 |
| ThermaTouch 7 Round Wellness Steam (WSTP7R) | 7-inch, Android | Digital valve not listed | SteamVection | Serenity, 164 jets | $6,499.97 |
| ThermaTouch 7 Wellness Shower (WSP7S or WSP7R) | 7-inch, Android and Alexa | Digital valve included | Not listed | Serenity, 200 full-color LEDs | $8,799.97 |
The SignaTouch 5 package price varies by rainhead size, finish and mount: $8,999.97 is the starting price for the 14 inch version, and the 18 inch version is $11,199.97.
Which one has the digital valve and which has the steamhead?
This is where buyers get caught. The steamhead is the fitting that releases steam into the room, and the digital shower valve sets water volume and temperature. Two of the packages include a steamhead, one includes both, and the 7-inch shower package swaps the steamhead for a valve.
The SignaTouch 5 Wellness Steam Package lists a steamhead and does not list a digital valve. The Flushmount Total Wellness Package lists both. The ThermaTouch 7 round steam package lists a steamhead, and the 7-inch shower package lists a valve but no steamhead. If you need both and your package lacks one, you would be buying it separately, so read the "What is in the package" line on each page.
What about the rainhead and sound?
Every package includes a ceiling-mounted light and sound rainhead, but they are not the same.
- HydroVive (SignaTouch 5): a 1.8 GPM rain shower from 120 jets, 1600-lumen LED lighting in 84 colors, and Bluetooth audio through a 100-watt RMS amplifier, dual-driver speaker and subwoofer. Choose a 14 or 18 inch rainhead.
- Serenity 10 (Flushmount): two rows of 82 jets, self-contained ceiling mount installed without access from above, 1600-lumen full-spectrum LED lighting with chromatherapy presets.
- Serenity (ThermaTouch round steam package): a dual row of 164 jets, 18 high-intensity LEDs, a subwoofer and high-frequency tweeters.
- Serenity (ThermaTouch shower package): 200 full-color LEDs and a Bluetooth v4.2 audio module.
Which questions settle the choice?
Before you pick a package, answer four questions. First, does your shower layout call for a surface-mounted, recessed or flush-mounted control? The SignaTouch 5 package offers surface mount or recessed, and the Flushmount sets the control flush with the wall. Second, do you want the valve and the steamhead in one box, or are you fine adding one later? Third, how big is the rainhead you want, 14 or 18 inch on the HydroVive package, or the fixed Serenity modules on the others? Fourth, does an Android screen with WiFi matter to you, or do you simply want a reliable steam and shower control?
Write the model number of the package you choose in your message to us, such as WSTP7R or TWPSR. Model numbers keep the conversation exact and make it easy for us to confirm that your control, rainhead and generator go together.
Which control should you choose?
Choose the 5-inch SignaTouch if you want a simpler control with saved settings for two users and a choice of 15 finishes, recessed or surface mounting on the HydroVive package, or a flush-mounted control on the TWPSR. Choose the 7-inch ThermaTouch if the larger Android screen, WiFi and apps matter to you.
Then check the rest of the kit. If you want a digital valve in the package, look at the Flushmount TWPSR or the ThermaTouch 7 shower package. If you want a steamhead in the package, look at the SignaTouch 5 steam package or the ThermaTouch 7 round steam package. The TWPSR is the only one that lists both.
What do you still need to buy?
A control package does not make steam. The Flushmount page states that a steam generator is not included and is sold separately, and you should confirm the same for the other packages before you order. Start with our steam shower generators and packages, then read ThermaSol Pro Series I vs II vs III to pick a generator. If you are not sure which type of unit suits your shower, see the different types of steam generators, and use the steam generator size calculator to check output for your room.
