Description
The Harvia Forte AF is a heat-storing electric sauna heater built to be ready whenever you are. A large, insulated stone chamber stays hot on standby under a closed lid, so when you lift the cover and switch to full power, Harvia says a well-insulated room reaches bathing temperature in about 5 to 15 minutes. It suits households that use the sauna several times a week at varying times, in rooms of roughly 177 to 530 cubic feet on 240V single-phase power.
How it works
On standby (LO) the heater keeps the stone chamber warm using standby heat; Harvia puts daily standby energy use at about 4 to 6 kWh. Press the operating button for full power (HI) for one hour at a time while you bathe. The stone temperature can be set between 428 and 500°F at the control panel, and an ECO mode lets you hold a very low temperature without switching the heater off.
Control and safety features
The Forte uses a separate, splash-proof digital control panel, which also makes it well suited to being built into a bench. The heater switches off automatically if the cover is left open, and the control panel has a keypad lock. The cover has a silicone gasket and a spring-loaded hinge that holds it open or closed.

What you need to know before buying
- The Forte is hardwired at 240V single-phase. A licensed electrician should size the breaker and wire for your model (up to 40.8A and 6 AWG for the AF100) and connect the heater and control panel to the Harvia manual and local code.
- With stones loaded the heater is heavy. Harvia notes the floor or platform must carry roughly 290 lb (130 kg).

- Harvia lists the Forte AF as discontinued, so this listing is subject to remaining stock. Harvia offers an HAF1 embedding flange for bench installs, sold separately.
