Penguin Chillers Danner Mag Drive Water Pump, 500 to 3,600 GPH

Penguin's standard and commercial water chillers have no built-in pump, so they need a separate pump to move water through the chiller. The Danner Supreme Aqua-Mag series is the pump Penguin recommends: a magnetic drive pump with a single moving part (a ceramic impeller) and an epoxy-encased motor, built for quiet, continuous 24/7 duty in fresh or salt water.

Which model? Penguin recommends the Danner 5 to 18 for its 1/2 HP to 1 1/2 HP standard, HE and outdoor water chillers, and the Danner 24 or 36 for its 2.0 and 5.0 Ton commercial water chillers. Exact sizing depends on tubing length, fittings and head height. Standard chillers need a measured flow of at least 250 GPH after those losses.

Works with: Penguin Chillers standard, HE and outdoor water chillers, and Penguin commercial water chillers. Connect it with Penguin barbed adapter fittings and black vinyl tubing (sold separately). It is not used with the Penguin Cold Therapy Chiller, which has its own built-in pump.

Use notes from Penguin

• Penguin notes that Danner pumps are not intended for cold therapy applications and does not recommend running one submerged in a cold plunge. Never get in the water with the pump in it: it is not GFCI-protected equipment.
• Penguin does not recommend running the pump externally (out of the water).
• The face of the pump is delicate. Do not thread a fitting into the face side: it can crack.
• Choose the barbed adapter fitting that matches your pump model and tubing size.
• For a cold plunge, the Penguin Cold Therapy Chiller has a pump built in. Contact us before you buy if you are unsure which setup fits your plunge.

Full shipping policy

Chillers and accessories arrive by parcel carrier. Complete plunges may need help to move into place, so check the weight on the Specifications tab. Inspect the box when it arrives, note any damage, and tell us within 48 hours so we can resolve it for you; damaged or defective units are repaired or replaced.

Before setup, read the setup notes in the description: chiller placement relative to the tub drain matters for proper operation.

5-year Danner limited manufacturer warranty.

1-year Penguin Chillers warranty from the ship date, with optional 2- or 3-year extended coverage where offered. If you pair a Penguin chiller with a tub as a set, a photo of the finished setup may be needed to validate warranty coverage, and we will walk you through it. Restore Suite is your first contact for any question.

Returns: request a return within 21 days of delivery; every return needs pre-approval. Approved returns carry a 20% restocking fee, and you pay return shipping. Custom units cannot be returned.
