The Penguin Chillers Outdoor 1/2 HP High Efficiency Water Chiller is a general-purpose water chiller with 5,750 BTU/hr of cooling capacity. Penguin builds it for cold plunges as well as aquariums, hydroponics and process cooling, so it suits a custom or DIY plunge setup where you choose your own tub, pump and plumbing.

This outdoor model wraps the 5,750 BTU/hr high efficiency platform in a stainless steel exterior rated for outdoor installs in any weather above freezing. Drain it completely if temperatures will drop to freezing.

Setup notes from Penguin

• Needs a separate water pump and tubing (not included). Penguin recommends a Danner Mag Drive 5 to 18 pump; any pump used must be rated under 10 PSI / 23 ft max head.
• Water must flow continuously while the chiller runs. Unplug the chiller before stopping the flow.
• Condensation can form depending on water temperature and room humidity, so plan the location.

Outdoor model: disconnect and drain completely if air temperatures will reach freezing.

Chillers and accessories arrive by parcel carrier. Complete plunges may need help to move into place, so check the weight on the Specifications tab. Inspect the box when it arrives, note any damage, and tell us within 48 hours so we can resolve it for you; damaged or defective units are repaired or replaced.

Before setup, read the setup notes in the description: chiller placement relative to the tub drain matters for proper operation.
